Question
QUESTION: hi
i have a 93 Mazda MX6 2.5 V6. When i fill up my tank the display in the car shows that my car is only 3/4 full. When the car is at 1/4 it will loose power under acceleration, while climbing or if taking a corner( symptoms that the fuel is low . When i fill up the tank when it is at 1/4 i only get 38 to 40 liters of fuel. what could this be?

ANSWER: propably the float in the gas tank needs to be replaced or the gauge in the dash is faulty

QUESTION: I have replaced the float before and it made no difference. this is what i came across att: http://consumerguideauto.howstuffworks.com/1993-to-1997-ford-probe-6.htm "Fuel gauge:  The fuel gauge may only read 3/4 full when the tank is full because the fuel return line is bent and interferes with the sender in the tank. (1995-96) " but it still does not explain why my car react the when it shows 1/4. there must be more thane 15 liters of fuel left in the tank?  could it be a faulty fuel pump?

Answer
a faulty fuel pump wouldn't cause the tank to read improper however it would cause a drivablity problem yes a bent fuel line would also cause the improper reading and not allow the tank or the injectors to bleed off properly also cause drivablity problems check your lines if it's not the float or the gauge itself
