Mazda Repair: getting 1990 Miata in shape, dry climate, miatas

Question
I have a 1990 Miata that has not been started or driven in several years. Because of the economy, I need to get the car in shape so I can sell it. What needs to be done?

Answer
It likely will have stale fuel and fuel related issues to deal with possibly even a corroded fuel pump.  The fuel tank, filter, pump and possibly injectors will be your first area of concern.  Other than that, a battery and be sure it has good oil and coolant before attempting to start it.  I have recovered numerous Miatas held in storage for long periods and have been successful at bringing them back into service.  Though depending upon it's current mileage, how long it has been out of use and what state it was left in (inside/outside - full of fuel, empty, moist or dry climate - these will cause variables.
