Mazda Repair: water around the spark plug, spark plug wire, ac condenser

Question
I have a 1992 miata I found that my car started missing, so I thought that my plugs or wires had gone bad so I went to pull spark plug wire to replace spark plug & found water on the top of the spark plugs, I vacuumed water off the top of the spark plugs n cleaned up as much water as possible, check for water in the cylinder & did not find any there.. replaced plugs & wires & ran car, runs good again but where did the water come from ? also how do I check that the cooling fans are working properly ? they don`t see to come on

Answer
Fans,

If you have an AC equipped Miata you have dual fans, both should come on with the AC.  The driver side fan is the main cooling fan and it cycles by temperature.  The other is the AC condenser fan (a support fan) it cycles with the compressor, it bolsters the air flow required to handle the added thermal load the AC puts on the cooling system.

When inspecting them be sure they both spin and spin with force enough for you to feel the air flow.  Don't try to stop the blades they will break.  A 12 volt motor can develop burnished contacts and thus result in reduced power output yet still spin the blade to some degree.

Normally they make noise as they begin to fail.
