Mazda Repair: cooling system, head gasket, blower motor

Question
ok i have a 2004 Mazda6 v6. i recently found out that my tension belt was loose so my car was overheating, i was wondering if that can affect my heater? cause my heater isn't working.

Answer
no not at all they accualy suggest that if your engine is over heating to turn the car off and turn the heat on. the heater runs on a blower motor and a coil trasfuring the heat to the car. first check your fuses. if your carpet is bamp you may have a busted coil or the blower isn't working. both parts are not that hard to replace but really time consuming.

also if your engine was over heating i'd have the head gasket inspected
