Mazda Repair: Mazda 626: Headlights, mazda 626, exspensive

Question
Having some issues with my headlights, just this weekend that went out and would not come back on. Someone told me to tap the headlight relay, and sure enough the headlights would pop back on. Bought a new relay and installed it, but the headlights would never come back on. Reinstalled the old relay and still no lights. Fuse under the hood is ok. Bought another headlight switch, but i have not installed it yet. Took the car to the dealer this morning and they stated it was the combination switch behind the steering column, which would cost me about 600.00 for part a labor. Any clue as to what the problem may be?

Answer
it's very posible the dealer is right and it's the comdination swich sounds a little exspensive to me for the parts and labour.

i have a mazda that i'm parting out and if you want i can lend you a switch to see if that's the problem and if so we'll go from there. i live in ontario canada and hope i can help you out. if not try a local scrap yard there not that hard to replace
