Mazda Repair: Wheel Bearing Replacement, wheel bearing replacement, pickle fork

Question
What is involved in replacing a front wheel bearing on a 1993 Mazda Protege?  Is it something I can do myself and do I need any special tools?  Thanks

Answer
depending on your knowlebge and what you can do yes most people can fix a wheel bearing themselfs i believe i would suggest geting a tie rod and ball joint kit before you start taking it apart if you use a pickle fork or just ply the heck out of the parts you'll damage them and most ball joints on the mazdas have to be pressed and can be costly. if need be i can offer some step by step to walk you throught the job it's pretty simply but takes time and a little effort 519 270 8498 is my cell number. if you live near the city eg. t.o area ARMCAN auto parts is a great place to get parts for a really good price i normally deal with them myself when fixing my cars i live 3 hours from the city but the savings most of the time is worth the drive
