Mazda Repair: alternator, napa auto parts, mazda mpv

Question
my battery light is flashing and i change the battery some days is off and vehicle drives fine some other days it turn on or flash and the battery dies  
is this the alternator?
can i use one from any other car or only 1996 mazda mpv v6 3.0
having a hard time tryin to locate one

Well, sounds like a bad connection to me. Try cleaning all the connectors and then have it tested at your local NAPA auto parts. They are also able to provide you with a replacement alternator if need be. I imagine it will simply be a bad connection at the battery or the alternator. I would stay away from trying to install an alternator from another vehicle. A long time has passed since the 70's when you could still do that across the board.
