Main 80 fuese firewall how to tell if blown?

Answer
Unplug air meter, will it idle?
Does check engine light illuminate?
Without a scan tool you cannot make a proper diagnosis of the Vane Air Meter or Mass Air Flow sensors in these trucks. The Code Checker tools common to auto parts stores and local rental places just will not hack it. It needs to go on to a real Diagnostic Scanner with all the bells and whistles.

If the 80AMP main was blown you would not have anything anywhere "including spark". The 80 will commonly blow only if you cross the polarity of the terminals on the battery.
Depending on the style used “I cannot remember as I have only had to replace one" should be obvious with a little study.

You may have a fried computer, it is imperative that you get a scan tool on it to rule that possibility out.
Then check the intake air hose for leaks and the idle air control and throttle position sensors for proper operation. Detailed instructions for these procedures can be found in your Chilton’s repair manual.

Past that you are looking at a possible wiring program and then you will need to use the Chilton’s troubleshooting guide to walk you through, step by step, in the process of diagnosing the possible problems.
