Mazda Repair: repar, mass airflow sensor, mazda mx6

Question
i have a mazda mx6 with a v6
and a mantrans. im haven problems with the idle jumping up around 2000 to 4500 rpm and idleing there for alittle while. the car will some times die after that hapens and is hard to restart. i have put a new idle control sen in it, both new o2 sen, new plug wires. any help would be nice. thanks!

Answer
I suggest that you have the throttle body cleaned as well as the idle air control valve and its corresponding passages. You may also want to check the EGR valve for a possible blockage or carbon build up that may be causing it to stick. Verifying the Mass Airflow Sensor is within range with a scan tool when it acts up may also reveal a bad MAF or MAT sensor that is causing it to enrich the mixture when it is already warmed up.
