Mazda Repair: Rear A/C lines, mazda mpv, c lines

Hi Chris,
I have a 1997 Mazda Mpv van that has A/C lines going to the rear that are leaking. They said it would be $1000 to replace those lines. Can I cap the lines off and use only the front?? Is there a manufacture out there that has those lines other than Mazda??

I have never came acroos someone who is actually wanted to cap off the rear lines. But i really dont see anything wrong with doesg it as long as it doesnt cut off the flow throught the front lines, i wouldnt know anyway of capping it but any way you do do it it must not leak. As far as after maket lines go i dont even know too much about them, they might but u are going to have to check a local parts store for that, just remeber, cutting off the rear A/C will depriciat the value of the van in a resale
