Mazda Repair: What does the check engine light mean?, mazda b4000, luck chris

1997 Mazda B4000 automatic - 66000 miles - runs fine - gages all normal - Check engine light just came on - oil change and service less than 1,000 miles ago.

When a check engine light comes on , it usualy means that there is an emmsions control sytem failure, like an O2 sensor, evap leak, ect it can come on for a couple of other reasons but to check why? you are going to have to take it to a local mechanic to have it scanned, this will tell you why the check engine light is on.
