Mazda Repair: Car wont start, mazda protege, luck chris

Question
I have a 1997 Mazda Protege. I drove it 2 weeks ago.  It won't start this morning. The lights seem quite bright. It started after I used a battery charger to charge it for 30 mins. I drove to a supermarket (20 mins drive).  Again I could not start it. I had to call a friend to get jump-start.  I drove back to my home. Having parked the car, I tried to start it again. It won't start.

Background info, the battery was changed 5 years ago with a new one. The charging system was changed 3 years ago with a refurbished one.

Thank you very much.
Sincerely,
Joe

Answer
Hi Joe Thanks for asking.
It does seem like you have a problem with the battery. usualy if you can start the vehicle and drive it with out a problem, and if the battery light is not on, on the dash then you have to replace the battery. 5 years is about average for an after market batery life span. If the battery light is on, on the dash then there is a problem with the charging system. Just replace the battery and you should be good to go.
Good Luck
