Mazda Repair: rattling noise front drivers wheel, wheel bearing, wheel suspension

Question
I have a rattling noise comming from the front drivers wheel/suspension?  When I jack the car up and have play when I wobble the wheel grabbing it from the top and bottom.  No play when trying to wobble side to side.  I have no noise when driving on smooth roads but get a lot of noise on rough roads?  Is this the wheel bearing or a suspnsion part?

Thanks

Answer
Hey Chucker
Thanks for asking
From what you have described to me, It is definitly sounds like you have a worn out ball joint, which is part of the suspension, A worn ball joint will give you noise when you are on a bumpy road, but will be quite on a smooth road. It is dangerouse to drive around with a ball joint that is very badly worn out, so have that looked at soon, And dont be fooled, a worn stabalizer link can give you the same noise But will not aloow the wheel to have any play, Mazda's are more common for stabalizer links.
Good luck
