Mazda Repair: engine, mazda mx 6, pvc valve

Question
i just bought a 88 mazda mx-6 ... it has 209,000 miles... while driving the pvc valve at the end of the hose from the fuel injection to the engine broke.  Oil shot everywhere, the engine has just recently  stopped smoking.  The tailpipe which wasnt smoking before is now smoking a thick white smoke which becomes thicker when i accelarte.. what might be possible causes and what would u recommend for me to do with limited funds i have to fix peice by peice but its my transportation to work.. please help

Answer
What I would recomend doing first is repairing or replacing the pcv valve  because without that your car is going to run rough or pourly in many different ways. For the smoking part first get a light that is small enough to stick into the cylinder through the spark plug hole. the piston should be black which would be normall but if it looks like there might be something that looks like moisture or oil then that would explain the smoking, if nothing is visible then you can do a compression check on the vehicle. another thing it could be is a weak or blown piston ring. but first you really need to fix the pcv valve before you do anything.
