Mazda Repair: brake light issue, voltage drop test, mazda rx 7

Question
I own a 1987 mazda rx-7 and i am having a heck of a time trying to figure out why my brake lights do not work i installed a new switch at the pedal and checked the fuses and still no luck. any suggestions?

Answer
Alright you are gona have to look more at the wiring. If you a DVOM or a Multimeter you can perform a voltage drop test across the circuitry. Check to see if there is any power across the power side wiring from the fuse all the way back until you get to the part of the wiring were it connects to the lights, after that check for voltage coming from the lights that is grounded. if you dont have a DVOM a test light will work. If not another method you can do is to get a compass and just follow the wiring all the way back to the lights holding the compass close to the wiring and if there is a short in the wiring the compass will act different. Also just hand ckeck ground and power connections to see if they are loose.
