Mazda Repair: antenna, electric antenna, pretzel shape

recently someone thought it was the right thing to do to bend the antenna on my daughters 1995 mazda 626 into a pretzel shape.
how do i get to it ? i cant figure out how to get to the electric antenna to remove it or to put a new one in. it doesnt seem like you can take anything apart in the trunk to get at it.

It is kind of hard to explain how to do this without showing you. It is pretty difficult to do.
In the trunk there should be a cap on the plastic part and underneath that there is a screw. There are about 5 of these and if you undo all those you will have access to the antenna.
