Mazda Repair: rear bearings in Mazda 323, rear bearings, mazda 323

Question
Hello.
You had an inquiry about the front bearings for a Mazda 323 and said they had to be pressed out at a shop.  I have an '89 Mazda 323 and I'm sure the bearings are going on the back. I thought it was tire noise until I was told otherwise.  Do they need to be pressed out too or is this a job I can do at home?

Answer
Hi and thanks for writing,
The bearings on the back should be pressed out at a shop. You could do the job at home but you have a high risk of damaging the bearing case which will then cost more money to fix. I would recomend taking it to a shop.
hope this helps
