Mercedes Benz repair: Antenna Base Loose, antenna mast, antenna base

Shane, I have a 1986 300E and the base of the antenna appears to be loose. I can actually move the molded piece (which houses the antenna mast). How is that piece supposed to be attached to the car? The antenna is working perfectly but it makes a noise when it goes down since the base is not secured. Thanks for your help.

it just pops off it is harder than heck to get the new one on with the antenna still in so you have to unhook the antenna mast from the car which means pulling your antenna motor it is pretty easy 2 bolts unhook the motor take a screwdriver and pop old one off then put new grommet in then pop the mast through the new one
