Mercedes Benz repair: door panals, phillips screws, 300sel

QUESTION: How do you remove the inside door panals on a 1989 300sel mercedes.  What tools do i need? Is it easy to damage the panal? Thank you very much.

ANSWER: it is pretty easy you will need to remove the phillips scres on the bottom of door panel and by the handle then unscrew the door pin there will be clips that are glued on to your panel slide out the panel while pushing up if you feel restrictions chances are you have a screw still in there also check for screws on door panel where the door and the body come togeher there should be 2 there alsoits pretty easy just take your time. and unclipall the electrical connectors.

QUESTION: I removed 2 phillips screws on the closing handle. 1 screw on bottom of panel. 2 screws that hold a chrome plate where the door meets the body. I unscrewed the black pin on top left panel.  It seems to be holding on tight at the handle where you pull to open the door. Does the black plastic piece around the handle come off? or is there a screw somewhere in that area?   Thank you

ANSWER: there should be a screw in the area pull up the handle you should see it

QUESTION: When i pull the handle that opens the door there is no screw visable anywhere. Does the black plastic that surrounds the handle come off seperatly from the handle? The power window button popped out easy from the panel. I still can't see any screws near handle.  This is the 126 body style. Can't figure out please help. Thanks Shane

pull the plastic that meets the window you can then check to see where it is binding by prying carefully around the door then you will see where you are stuck there are big clips glued on to the door but you may need to keep handle open when pulling it.
