Mercedes Benz repair: Driver side door panel removal, window cranks, inch gap

Question
QUESTION: 1990 420 SEL driver's side power window cranks fully down but will not close fully leaving 1/2 inch gap which suggests arm holding window or window regulator may need adjustment/replacement but as a start need to remove door panel to inspect.

ANSWER: remove the door and replace the regulator first check why it is binding though  while innards of door is removed maybe a simple off track and be able to push it over a little

QUESTION: Good suggestion Shane. I will do as you suggest.
Now looking the door panel I don't see how to take it off. So my follow up question is how do I remove the door panel?
Thanks for your quick response to main question.

Answer
there should be a plug screw or something by the handle when you lift up to open up the door .. also check the side mount where you would put insulation between the door and metal. It should be 3 pieces Exterior compoents.;. Interior components and trim pieces >>(ie handles door latches etc.. First figure out which is which and take off trim pieces handles knobs etc then work on the door generally clipped then you will get to the regulator . Usually MB has screws alont the interior of door that holds it to the exterior on older models
