Mercedes Benz repair: warning on dash, google search, oil leaks

Question
Hi Shane. I,m getting warning messages on the information area on the dashboard. One is the sign of an engine, the other is telling me to visit a workshop as my air-bag system is in error. In the book, the engine sign refers to an injection fault possibly, either one spells a blank cheque at the workshop unless I know what the problems are beforehand. Could you help ?
The car is a 2002 C class 240 estate.

Answer
first off do you have any oil leaks in the front of the car this may and will and ARE occurant in the C class MB that is why they are generally so cheap these days to buy. As far as the airbag error you will have to find which airbag is in error. I would neglect to think it would be your side airbag so lets concentrate on your front.. Was your car in any front end damage or did you own it from the get go? Chances are you have a faulty circuit switch on your ABS relay and may want to get a new relay otherwise your airbag sensor is shot. Do a google search for your ABS sensor switch you can find the part and locate it from there
