Mercedes Benz repair: Will not take fuel, check fuse, fuel mixture

Question
When warming up I have to manually push back & forth on the gas pedal to get the engine to take fuel. Once it gets hot then runs like a new one. Just had rotor cap, rotor,& fuel filter replaced which seems to help the rpm & idle during this warm up period but still won't take gas when running until it get good & hot. Got any ideas?

Answer
Greetings Guy!
If this is a V-8 and within the years of 1979 thru 1985? Check fuse in overload protection relay first. This located in different places depending on yr and model. If it is good then go
Underneath your air breather on the right side of the fuel head, you will find a metal line that goes up to your warm up enrichment.(Has an electrical plug attached and two fuel lines). It has a slight swelling in the line and comes right of the fuel head. This line gets stopped up causing fuel to be restricted to the warm up enrichment. Take it off and blow through it.If no problem found consider adjusting the fuel mixture on the duel system.Note the tower just behind the fuel head toward the firewall. With a long 3mm allenwrench. Standing on the drivers side of the engine and pushing slightly down on the spring loaded tower Turn Clockwise to richen and counterclockwise to lean. You will hear the sweet spot and this where you want it to be.However you may have to adjust to lean for emissions testing. Thanks and i hope this helps
