Mercedes Benz repair: 1999 e300 Hood wont open, downward movement, e300

My hood is stuck in closed position, lever inside the car is broken. How do I open the hood without damaging?

Can you see the cable? If you can . Put at locking visegrip pliers on in and pull on it in a downward movement. The plastic pull handle probably just cracked.
If there is not excessive resistance on the cable just replaced the handle. Just 1 screw holding it
