Mercedes Benz repair: Mercedes ml320 1999, crankshaft position sensor, mercedes ml320

Question
When car is cool or cold it runs fine, but as soon as the temp  goes just a little over 80C it stalls and won't start until the car cools down.  It sounds like the same problem I had with an old VW years ago.  I replaced the coil in it and have had no problem since.  Problem with the Mercedes, Where is the  darn coil??  I can't seem to locate it anywhere.

Answer
Hi Ed.
The Coils are under the Black plastic Cowling that you see when you open the hood.
Put your fingers under the front part of the cowling and a quick pressure upward pops it loose from the front and them pull it up from the rear. you will see the coils there bolted on top of the valve covers with a torx screw. There at 3 on each side with 2 wires cominbg out . each cylinder has 2 plugs .
Note: I do not beleive that this is your problem through.
You will find when you remove the cowling in the front on the left hand side a small black cap that covers the shraider valve for the fuel system. Read the fuel pressure . I beleive that you may be loosing pressure and delivery.
You either have a bad fuel pump or a crankshaft position sensor that is bad.
When the car dies and does not restart check for fuel pressure and volume from that valve and also for spark.
if you have spark but  no pressure them possible fuel pump (Further testing needed). If no spark either possible crank sensor (Further testing needed)
