Mercedes Benz repair: rough idle, excessive smoking 1975 300d, fuel hoses, excessive smoking

i have a 300d 1975, mercedes that smokes excessively and is difficult to start in morning as well as a rough idle until i drive for a while. i have had a great deal of work done on the car in the past year plus all filters oil change, etc., thank you

Possible issues:
* Bad glow plugs.
* Primer pump or fuel hoses leaking = sucking air into the fuel system.
* Algae contamination of fuel system.
* Valves out of adjustment.
* Timing out of adjustment.
* Injector spray pattern bad = drooling.
* Starter cranking slow due to age/damage.
* Over fueling (damaged ALDA)
