Mercedes Benz repair: transmission problem, mercedesshop, shopforum

Question
1968 mercedes 450SL. The transmission is 2 yrs old. running good. The trans fluid leaked out on the street and emptied. i refilled it and drove it 1 mile home shifting perfectly well. Strangely overnight, it is still full of fluid, but will not shift into gears.   What  do you think is wrong?  Thank you in advance

Answer
Answer:
Did you check the transmission fluid level with the engine running?

The next possible issues are failed B pistons and/or transmission pump.
