Mercedes Benz repair: Car radio, mercedes 300e, computer hope

Question
Hi I'm 16 and my dad gave me a '93 Mercedes 300E and my dad replaced the battery. When he did so it reset my radio and I tried to punch in codes hoping to guess correctly, but instead my radio just read "wait." It has read "wait" for about six weeks now. My dad has since giving me the correct code, but the radio still says "wait." Can you please help me to get my radio back on? Imagine the driving life of a teenage girl without a radio!

Answer
I feel your pain and have had several questions like this before. The best thing to do is to disconnect the battery once again and that will usually reset the radio and allow you to enter the correct code.
The reason you are seeing the "wait" message is because if your radio was stolen, it would never be able to be used after a certain amount of incorrect code entries.
Now, sometimes the battery disconnect will not work. I have had some radios maintain the "wait" message. If this happens, you will have to take it to a Benz dealership so they can reactivate the radio with the computer.

Hope this helps you out
