Mercedes Benz repair: engine, longblock engines, head bolts

Question
Hi. It trying to repair a 93 300d 2.5l. i was planing on replacing the head gasket and the piston rings because i get alot of smoke and back pressure in the valve cover and its also blowing oil in the intake and smoking really bad. My questione is what type of wrench do i use to take the head bolts out? it seems that is a torks bitbut im not sure. And what size is it?
Second questione how do i put the timing chain tensioner back togheter? i took it all apart by mistake and all the springs and little balls feel out. a diagram would really help me. and the final questione is do i need to lift the engine up to remove the oil pan to be able to get to the conecting roads to replace the rings on the pistons? Any help would be greatlly apreciated. thankyou.

Answer
Stop.
This is a diesel engine, you can not throw a set of rings in and keep it running.

If the cross hatching on the cylinder walls is worn away = the old cylinder sleeve must be pressed out, a new sleeve pressed in and bored + new pistons = very expensive.

I suggest you check on a rebuilt engine.
