Mercedes Benz repair: A/C problem on S420, pollen filter, cabin filter

Question
I have a 1999 S420 Mercedes that has a fan blower that does not respond to the controls. It is permanently "stuck" on the low setting even though the control shows that that the high setting has been chosen. Any suggestions?

I read that someone had a similar problem with his 97 E320 and was told the combination filter/cabin filter or pollen filter could be plugged.

It is also possible that blower regulator is bad.

Answer
ITS POSSIBLE THAT THE CABIN FILTED IS PLUGGED BUT THE SPEED OF THE FAN WONT NECESSARILY STAY THE SAME, IF YOU HAVE A FAN STAYING THE SAME SPEED, TAKE THE CABIN (DUST) FILTER OUT AND IF SPEED INCREASES, CABIN FILTER IS BAD, IF NOT, REPLACE THE BLOWER REGULATOR
