Mercedes Benz repair: !984 190D, head gasket, mercedes benz

Dear Jim
I have always loved the Mercedes Benz, My father got me a 190D,1984 It hasn't given me any trouble, until now.My glow plugs go out every year, but now my car will not start, and the temp level over heats after about 10 min. then this steam comes out from the inside vents and I thought it was smoke, but its steam, and fills the car. what should I tell my mech. I know he will see me coming as a women, butI need help.

It appears you have a water leak in your heater core. You may have blown a head gasket or cracked the cylinder head. This could be a costly repair. Have your mechanic check the compression. If it is low in one or two cylinders then the head gasket is the problem.
