Mercedes Benz repair: 190E oil pressure, low oil pressure, engine speeds

Question
I have a 1991 190E 2.3 with @175,000 miles, & my question concerns low oil pressure.  Despite adequate oil in pan with various weights, once the engine warms up, my oil pressure at idle reads zero.  As engine speeds increase to almost 2,000 rpms, oil pressure then also increases.  This issue is slowly wrsening, and i am concerned.  Is the problem in the "pump", rotors or elsewhere?  Are special factory tools required?

Answer
i beleive your engine cannot run without oil pressure the ECM will turn it off. i think your gauge is faulty. besides if it was that bad it would be knocking and running like junk, as low oil pressure allows lifters to burn up, losing power and making noise.
