MG Car Repair: 74 MGB cooling, control cable, heater core

Question
hi - I am flushing out the engine and adding a new radiator to hopefully improve cooling. Any tips would be appreciated. The heater had been disconnected by previous owner( control cable was cut at the engine block valve ) but I notice coolant still loops thru the heater core. Can I by-pass this and abandon the heater altogether?
many thanks,
Paul

Answer
Hi Paul.

Yes, you can join everything up and have hot air coming permanently out of the heater, or you can block the pipe at both ends and have cold air from the heater.

I would recommend that you to fit a new heater control cable and give yourself the choice.
