MG Car Repair: dash removal, speedometer cable, plastic glue

I have a 1976 midget 1500 I want to replace the dash cover what's the fasted way to pull the dash cover
I worked at BMC in Anaheim ca in 1975 but never replaced a dash in a midget I worked on Jags mainly

Hi Kerry,

The dash pad or cover is the dash and to remove it you have to remove all the instruments with it. There are 3 screws along the bottom and 4 nuts at the top in behind the dash. You also have to remove the choke cable and heater control and speedometer cable. Most of the wiring can just be unplugged.

If you are replacing it due to cracks in the upper part of the dash, You can get a plastic glue on cover to just cover the top part. That way you don't have to remove the dash at all.
