MG Car Repair: MGB 74 Clutch master ( US), clutch master cylinder, clutch slave

hi Barrie - I have changed my clutch slave OK but found leaking was happening at the master ( fluid on the floor ) Q: can I refurbish the master seals etc..while it in place? ie; without disconnecting the rigid pressure lines? or should it come out?

Hi Paul.  

The clutch master cylinder is only held in place by two bolts and a rigid fluid pipe, so I always remove it because it is so much easier to do the job on the workbench.  Also, if there other are problems such as a badly scored bore, you would need a mirror and a flashlight to see it.
