MG Car Repair: Sprite / Midget master cylinder adjustment, flexible hoses, disk brakes

Question
I have a 1965 Sprite with disk brakes in the front, drum in the back.  I installed a new master cylinder and two new wheel cylinder and I had me calipers rebuilt.  i replaced all the flexible hoses.  I cannot get any pressure to the brake pedal or the clutch.  yesterday I adjured the rods to the master cylinder out almost as far as i can and that helped a title but the systems will still not "pump-up" when I try to bleed them.  Any suggestions?

Answer
Hi Bill.  Both of the adjuster rods should be adjusted so that there is a little bit of movement before they start to operate.  Check that you have at least 4mm of free play at the pedal rubbers.  If you have over-adjusted a rod, then the master cup cannot fully return in its bore, so the cylinder cannot refill itself after the first pump and therefore you cannot bleed the system.
