MG Car Repair: Speedometer, trip odometer, speedometer

Just bought a 74 MGB.  When I drove it home the speedometer worked.  Took it for a drive yesterday and the speedometer was not working.  The trip odometer and the regular odometer continue to work. What could be the problem.

Hi Frank,

If the odometer is working and the speedometer is not, it means the cable is driving the unit and the speedometer head itself has failed. If you are mechanically inclined you may be able to open it up and find what is wrong as the speedometer is mechanical not electric.
