MG Car Repair: MG Midget Fuel leak, float bowl, mg midget

Question
I have a 1970 MG Midget with 60,000 miles on the original motor which runs great.  I only run it every 2 weeks or so as it is at my second home.  Last week when I started it, the float bowl on the front carburator leaked a lot from the overflow line.  I opened it up and cleaned the little pin with some fresh gas. That float stopped leaking after that but the next day the rear float started leaking out of the same overflow line a lot of gas, right down on the exhaust pipe.  Could some other event be causing both float bowls to basically leak the same time?

Answer
Hi Mike,

First put a fuel filter in line just before the carburetors and test the fuel pressure. It should be from 1.5 PSI to a max of 3 PSI. Then install new needles and seats in both carbs and set the float levels. That is what most shops would do with what you have experienced.
