MG Car Repair: follow up on carb rebuild, adjustment screw, shims

Got my rebuild kit for my 1976 mg and things seem to be going well so far, want to ask how to adjust the " float " is there a certain place I should measure it ? Also I don't see and adjustment screw to raise or lower it.

Hi Steve,

You adjust the float level by adding or removing shims from under the float needle and seat. As I remember the float level is 17mm holding the carb up side down and measure from the gasket surface of the float bowel to the highest edge of the float.
