Question
it keeps burning out the starter have had it replaced 3 x what do i need to do here????????????????

Answer
Hi Larry.  If the starter has burnt out 3 times, the problem lies elsewhere.

My guess is the engine is tight, so the starter is finding it difficult to turn the engine.  This overloads the starter, so it burns out.  You must get the engine fixed before you fit another starter motor.

I would remove all 4 spark plugs, then try to turn the engine by hand using a socket on the nut that holds the dynamo pulley.  It should all spin round without any effort.  If it is tight, this would confirm my theory.  Next, remove the fan belt.  Check that the dynamo spins and the water pump spins.  If they are OK, then you have an internal fault inside the engine.  Big money.
