MG Car Repair: ignition key, moss motors, lock smith

Question
I HAVE A 1970 MGB (US STEERING COLUMN MOUNTED SWITCH) WITH NO KEY. CAN I REPLACE JUST THE TUMBLER? HOW IS IT RETAINED IN THE HOUSING?

BEST REGARDS,
JOE

Answer
Hi Joe,
As I remember there was a certain position a hole needed to be drilled after you remove the lock assembly but I don't remember the measurements as to where the hole needed to be drilled. You may try contacting Moss Motors as they are current on that type of repair. If they can't help just remove the lock assembly and take it to a lock smith with the new tumbler (if available) and they will be able to change it for you.
