MG Car Repair: SU AUD404 MG carbs, haynes manual, hydraulic resistance

I bought dashpot oil from Moss. Haynes manual not clear as to how much to put in damper hole. Can you help? Thanks-a- million. . . Joe

Hi Joe,
You can fill it to about a half inch of the top of the inner tube as you look in it. A standard quick check of the level is to unscrew the top and lift the pin up a little and push it back down and if you feel hydraulic resistance, there is enough in it.
