MG Car Repair: 1979 mgb brass emblem on air filter?, moss motors, aftermarket accessory

I purchased a 1979 mgb on the way home I lost the brass mg emblem on the chrome carb filer housing. they are brass with mg engraved in the middle. is it possible to get this part anywhere. thanks

Hi Jim.  The MGB was never fitted with any brass MG emblems on the carbs or the air filters.  This sounds like an aftermarket accessory.  

You could try looking through the Moss Motors catalogue for MG emblems.  I know they sell them for the SU carburetter dashpots and they sell replacement air filters with an embossed MG logo.  However, most of these accessories were for the earlier MGs with twin SU carburetters, whereas you probably have a single Stromberg.
