MG Car Repair: turn signals fail when brakes applied, lamp clusters, flasher button

Question
I have had my MG midget for over a year now and really having some fun with it, always seem to be fixing something, thanks for the help you gave me when I was having problems with the fuel pump, it had really been running great sense the new pump,,,,,,, but now I notice when I put my turn signal on and them apply the breaks my signal stops working, as soon as I let off the break they work again,,,,, hasn't happened before,,, one day last week they weren't working at all and i notice the flasher button was on and as soon as I turned it off they worked but as I say quit when breaks applied,,,, it a 1976,

Thanks for your advise

Steve

Answer
Hi Steve.  I think the problem is a bad earth (ground) at the rear of the car.  Check that both the rear lamp clusters have a good earth connection.  Usually, this only happens on one side.  If it happens with the left AND the right turn indicators, get back to me.
