Rev counter wiring
ANSWER: Hi Fred.  I assume you have the early type of rev counter with a metal clip on the back that takes a loop of wire.  I attach a small photo of one.  Sorry it is a bit fuzzy.

The wire inside the horse-shoe is the power supply from the ignition to the coil.  You must divert this wire so that it goes via the horse-shoe, curved exactly as shown in the photo.  Do not make the loop too tight, and be sure to connect it the right way round.  The ends of the wire are labelled A3 and SW.  A3 refers to the WHITE side of the ignition fuse.  SW refers to the 12 volt power supply to your coil.  If you have the original coil it will be marked SW and CB.  Replacement coils are marked + and -.

QUESTION: DO YOU KNOW WHERE I CAN GET THE CONNECTOR. MINE IS MISSING. THANKS FRED

Answer
Hi Fred.
It shouldn't be difficult to make one yourself.  The diagram (above) should give you the right idea.

The part that the wire goes through is just a plastic cube with a few holes in it.  Cut it in half to fit the wires.  Trim the cube to fit over the raised part that you should still have.

The horse-shoe must be made of mild steel, because it works like the magnetic core of a transformer.  Just cut a strip of steel so it fits round 3 sides of the plastic, bend it, and drill a couple of holes in it.  The small hole locates on a pin so it only goes on one way round.
