MG Car Repair: Voltage stabilizer?, coolant temp, moss motors

Question
I with all good indications and stopped for fuel today, stopped the engine, shut the door, pumped and got back in. Started the car and no gas guage, tach, coolant temp guage, turn signals, wipers or brake lights.  I have been reading through the wiring diagrams and the only thing that seems remotely common is the voltage stabilizer. All fuses appear good. Any ideas? If not the stabilzer...what else should I trace?  Thanks

Answer
Hi Al.

All the functions that you have mentioned share fuse #3.  However, that fuse is supplied via a relay.  If the fuse is OK, then I would replace the relay.  They often fail.  Replacement relays are available from Moss Motors.

The relay is a small canister located near the fusebox.  It has 4 wires going to it - Black, White, and two White wires with a Brown stripe.  Please make sure you plug the wires into the new relay correctly.
