Question
Mr. Jones

I took the condenser out of the distributor and now I don't know the correct  procedure for putting the varying pieces back together. On the inside should the metal extension from the points touch the metal from the condenser? Does the small bookend like rubber piece go up against the inner wall of the distributor? In addition I broke the bolt holding all of this together. Is the square head of this made of aluminum? What about the bolt itself? Is this a specialty item and why?
One last question. What is the dizzy side that you refered to in your last answer to me?

Thanks again,
Lynden

TF Distributor
Hi, Lynden.  Sorry for the delay.  My computer had a fault that took 10 days to fix.

You should have a removable condenser held by one screw, with one wire coming out of it.

This wire goes under the square head of the bolt, along with the spring from the points.

See photo (attached).

The bolt is made of steel.  The square head stops it turning.  The cardboard (not rubber) insulator fits under the head of the bolt.

Sorry for any confusion - we often refer to the distributor as `the dizzy'.
