MG Car Repair: adjusting zs carbs, bentley manuals, haynes manuals

I am trying to adjust the zenith carbs on my Triumph tr6 (1975)and everything I read says to check the shop manual to see whether you turn the mixture screw to right or left to make it richer or leaner. I dont have a shop manual. How do I determine which way sets leaner or richer? Thanks for your help.ATA

Hi Arnie,
If you are adjusting the mixture screw (3mm Allen) down in the top of the carburetor turn the screw clockwise to richen the mixture. If you are keeping the car you should purchase a service manual (available from any auto parts store that handles Haynes manuals)(Or on the net you can purchase Haynes or Bentley manuals)
