MG Car Repair: My 1972 Mg midget carbs, moss motors, mg midget

Question
I have a 1972 MG Midget, and I am putting the carbs back together.  I was wondering if there would be some sort of schematic or diagrahm, showing how it all the hoses and springs hook up to it, and also to the engine from the carbs? Or at least some reference photos somewhere, so I can see where they would hook up at.  Thank you so much for any help. and advice for anything else with the car would be great as well. Thank you again
Clint

Answer
Hi Clint,
Here is a break down of the linkage from Moss Motors

There are only two hose connections on the top of the float chambers so just remove the three screws and lift the lid off and look to see which is the vent and which is the fuel connection.
The Moss break down does not show the springs so all you need to do after you have installed the carbs is to connect a spring on each throttle arm (obvious large eye let on each) then stretch the spring down to the small hole on the heat shield. The third spring (in the center) connects from the heat shield up to the throttle cable. There is a forth spring attached to the center of the heat shield that goes up and attaches to the choke cable link.
The vacuum port is for the vacuum advance unit on the distributor.(if it has this)
If you intend to keep this car you would be wise to purchase a service manual as there are many little odd things about this car that can trip you up. Also read my "Tech tips" section of my web site for some items that apply to your car as well. http://mg-tri-jag.net
