Question
I have recently been restoring my v8 replacing brake pipes mastercylinder seals, servo seals and am know ready to bleed the system.Starting with the back first I don't seem to be able to get the brake fluid through .
Can you please advise me what could be the cause.Iam sure I put the seals the right way round in the master cylinder.

Answer
Hi Mark.  You could try disconnecting the exit pipe from the master cylinder and blanking it off with a 3/8 UNF bolt.  This should give you a hard pedal.  If it doesn't, then you have not fitted the seals in the master cylinder correctly.  Do the same at the servo, that has seals too.

You may need to invest in a brake bleeding kit.  I have a simple one that connects to a spare tyre.  It pressurises the master cylinder and forces fluid through the system.  You open each bleed valve in turn and just wait till fluid flows out with no bubbles.

Hope this helps.
