MG Car Repair: seat wiring related to starting??, seat wiring, diagnostic procedure

Question
hello, i just bought an mgb 1977 and took out the seats and seatbelts to give a good scrubbing. my daughter couldn't get the drivers side seatbelt out, so she clipped a wire that was attached to it. when reassembling i did not reattach the wire, thus now car will not start, it does turn over great, just no firing up.  could this wire be the trouble.  thanks in advance

Answer
Hi Charles,
The seat belt switch operates a seat belt warning buzzer but not the ignition system so if it does not start up you need to start a diagnostic procedure for a "No Start". You need to read my tech tip on my web site on the subject. Go to, http://mg-tri-jag.net/tech14.htm
